Although Bela will obviously be best remembered for his performance as the silver screen's first official Dracula, Bela has done so much more to develop horror for us all. Aside from Dracula, and various other vampires, he's played Igor in the Frankenstein movies, he had a part in the original Wolfman, he even played Frankenstein opposite Lon Chaney Jr. in "Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman." He has also done more film adaptations of Poe's works than any other actor, including "The Raven", "The Black Cat", and "Murders In The Rue Morgue". And even though his life has a couple tragic chapters, due to heavy drug addiction, he remained on the cutting edge up until the end and beyond, working with the delightfully terrible director Ed Wood, which includes "Plan 9 From Outer Space" affectionately known as The Worst Movie ever made. Ironically, most of the film was made after his death."
